Thrilled to be posting this – my first major snow day on Stockholm. It’s incredible how the snow transforms the city, filling a cloudy day with fresh light. I’m standing here in front of Karlsberg Slott (Palace) built in 1630 and currently used as a military facility. I have a certain affinity for castles, I love their grandeur, romance and history. Would love to do a tour one day of some of the most beautiful castles and palaces of Europe – particularly Germany and France. My favourite is Mont Saint Michel, on my bucket list – this place is fairy tale made to life!
I’m spending a cosy morning inside before meetings this afternoon, sitting here drinking cinnamon spiced hot malted milk and getting atop a mountain of emails. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty which is full of soothing indie sounds. Simple things in life are always the best! Making the most of these little pleasures is one of the secrets to happiness right? My friend Jessie (We The People) told me today that winter suits me, she’s right. It’s my season.
Another thing making me smile of late are my new boots from Aussie owned brand Feit. I was introduced to the brand a few weeks back by Paul Wilson, soon to be filling the role of Brand President in NYC. One of the cool perks of being a blogger is not only having the chance to work creatively with brands but also to support new and upcoming labels. I’m excited to share Feit with you all because here we have a brand with a conscious – each pair of shoes is made with care by one master craft mans, from start to finality – then numbered, dated and signed. Made in sustainable numbers from vegetable leathers, no chrome or chemicals are used in the tanning process and the foot bed is made from cork – keeping the final product in as natural state as possible. On top of this, the boot in particular is super hard wearing – I can tell already I’m going to own and wear these for years and years to come. I could even go as far as to say the boot is warm enough to wear without socks! Can you tell I’m in love? I’m taking names and kicking ass in these boots. Would be kinda lost without them here in Sweden too. #haventbeenpaidtosaythis
