Venice, no doubt vying for the title of romantic city on earth, a place where any giving evening while walking the narrow streets or ferrying around in a gondola, you’re sure to spot a blushing newly engaged couple. It’s such an incredible city to behold – that often I felt I was in some kind of theme park, a wonderous kind of pastiche. I travelled here ages ago – at least a week before I left Europe for NYFW. As you can see – I’m still playing catch up. Landed back in Oz but not really finding too much relief in sight, I can’t seem to keep put! Of course – looking at these images, how can you not see what I doing is a labour of love? So incredibly, incredibly special.

Venice was really a flying adventure, a one night only trip shared with my blogger bestie  Rebecca. Despite such a short journey I can certainly share a few excellent tips about my this incomparable city – the first being – get yourself into a gondola. It’s not really cheapest way to travel, costing around 80 euro for a 45 minute sojourn through the canals – but how could you live with yourself coming all this way and not actually get the whole Venetian experience. If you get lucky like Rebecca and I, your gondolier will sing you songs in Italian and give your the DL on the area’s of the city you pass through. It’s really special to lull silently through the canals, so picturesque. I have another blog post coming with images from my ride so stay tuned for that.

Rebecca and I chanced upon an absolutely stellar place to eat called La Cantina (see what we ate HERE) and it was a dream first meal to have while in Venice, cheese bursting with flavour and perfectly cured meats along with a delicious light white wine. I’m actually salivating even thinking about it – simple italian food is magnificent when the quality is good.

I stayed at the Hotel Pesaro palace – which I can’t recommend because the wifi didn’t work. Kind of a typical of most hotels I’ve stayed in Italy so sorry I can’t be much help there!
